Here’s the first California poppy of the year (the first in our garden, that is). I expect the front yard to be covered in them within a couple of weeks. The orange popsicles to the climbing roses’ pink ones.

Easter egg

Last year we went all-out and got G dipping eggs in oil and food colouring. This year, work and fatigue got the best of us, and I managed a quick session of “decorating” on Monday with washable markers. This is my egg. G made both of hers a bit more brown with a marker and some water, then started bashing and peeling them. Ever since, she’s been asking to “decorate” more eggs.
